ASFF 2023: Day Five
Thank you for joining us at this year’s Aesthetica Film Festival. We hope you’re enjoying it! It might be the last day, but there’s still plenty to see and do. Here’s what’s happening today:
Today’s Film Strands & Guest Programmes
Identity is intertwined with relationships. We can be many things at once. Our last strand – It’s Nice to Meet You – includes films that explore the powerful bonds that unite us and uncover the web of relations that shape our lives. Today’s Guest Programme is Reclaim & Rebuild by We Are Parable, which presents shorts about colonial legacies, intergenerational perspectives and diasporic identity. (Friargate, 15:30-17:00)
Catch Up on Demand
For the third year running, we’re offering audiences the perfect opportunity to continue the festival experience with our online platform. All our films and a range of masterclasses will be available to view on our platform until 30 November. You must have a Hybrid or Virtual Pass to log on.
Join Us for Networking
The festival might be drawing to a close, but there is still an opportunity to make connections before you leave. The Northern School of Art’s networking session is all about collaboration. This last chance encounter is the perfect opportunity to approach other filmmakers within your field. Meet, swap details and continue the conversation beyond the festival. Join us at 1331 from 12:00-13:30.
Games Lab
We are the first film festival in the UK to develop a Games Lab. There’s still a chance to try 40 brand-new titles from talented developers, from soothing simulators to action-packed escapades. Want to dig deeper into the impact of games on wider society? Then join us at Spark from 12:00-20:00 led by Investigate.Games.
Awards Ceremony
We welcome filmmakers, delegates and audiences to our prize-giving ceremony, drawing the 13th edition of the festival to a close. Prizes are awarded for the best film in each of our genres, alongside our Audience Choice, Best of Fest and Special Guest Awards. Join in with the celebrations with our drinks reception from 16:30 at Yorkshire Museum. Please note, pre-booking is required for the Awards Ceremony.
