The BAFTA-Qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival is a landmark event in the cultural calendar. It is a hotbed for talent discovery, talent development and industry networking.

Each year, thousands of attendees enjoy a culturally-rich and transformative programme of 300 curated short films – alongside a wealth of masterclasses, pitching sessions, networking opportunities, market screenings, VR experiences and panel discussions.

Hybrid delivery in 2021, presents advertisers and partners with the opportunity to connect with key demographics in person, on screen, in print, and online through the Festival’s Virtual OD Platform, which will be live from 2-30 November.

Wider Audience

The most recent Live Festival in 2019 welcomed 26,000+ attendees, while the 2020 Virtual Festival drew an audience of 70,000.

With hybrid delivery in 2021, we’re expecting an audience nearing 100K individuals from 2-30 November.

In terms of demographics, audiences attend in fairly even numbers across male and female and we attract a well-balanced age demographic – seeing a particular peak in attendees aged 20-34, while still retaining strong attendance throughout the ages 16-59.


Print Media: Festival Programme

The Festival Programme is a major resource in and of itself for talent discovery. It provides insights into the screening schedule, speakers and jury members, guest programmes, masterclasses, events and logistical information. This means that, it is not only an integral source of information during the course of the festival itself, but a publication which our attendees like to keep, collect and refer to.

The programme is aesthetically produced and provides excellent visibility for advertisers – having a print & digital readership of 60,000+ and being distributed in festival packs.

Print adverts are available in Full, Half & Quarter Page sizes and recent programmes have featured promotional placements from Hilton, Reclaim the Frame, Grand Central, Hijack, Backstage, Digital Creativity Labs, Primetime and Picture House, as well as a range of universities and international film festivals.

On Screen advertising is a great way to reach captive audiences at live venues and in advance of screenings online.

Live Industry Marketplace

Welcoming excellent foot-traffic each year, the Live Industry Marketplace is a space for direct engagement with prospective clients, customers and collaborators. Hundreds of filmmakers, industry professionals and ticketholders attend the event – seeking to learn more about the products and services which our exhibitors have to offer them.

The 2021 Industry Marketplace will be held on Friday 5 November at York’s iconic Mansion House, on route between the Festival’s other screening and events venues. There are only 26 stands available.

Virtual Industry Marketplace

Virtual Exhibitors secure excellent digital visibility with a Dedicated Profile on the OD Festival Platform from 2-30 November.

The Virtual Marketplace achieved 18,000+ views in 2020 and provided a space for Virtual Exhibitors to share insights, bios, logos, contact details, links, embedded files and videos – securing international exposure, sourcing web traffic for company pages, and encouraging prospective clients and collaborators to get in touch.
