Director Kate Lefoe makes expert use of slow motion cinematography to generate an immense amount of suspense and tension, as the competitive diver faces new challenges. The absence of dialogue in the short film, Somersault Pike, allows to audience to feel the diver’s raw, turbulent array of emotion, as she attempts to surmount the fear of facing new heights.
