The BAFTA Qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival will be held from 3 – 6 November in York, and brings a programme of outstanding short films from around the world to audiences alongside a dynamic series of 25 industry masterclasses, plus networking sessions, guest screenings and panel discussions. The festival has a strong industry focus, and provides filmmakers with many opportunities to develop their knowledge and understanding of film, as well as explore best practice in directing, editing, cinematography, screen writing and much more.
Jessica Loveland of Creative England discusses her strand at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2015, iShorts, an entry level shorts initiative for new filmmakers outside of London, delivered through the Sheffield and Brighton Talent Centres as part of the BFI.NETWORK. Creative England will return for their third year with a showcase at ASFF 2016.
Currently open for entries, ASFF is looking for new filmmaking talent and wants to hear from all filmmakers, emerging or established. The prizes include screenings at BAFTA Qualifying ASFF, editorial coverage in Aesthetica Magazine, awards for Best of Category, People’s Choice and Best of Fest, plus much more.
