A monkey dreams of deers in an empty town and a ghost who draws close to them. Bloom is an abstract and surrealistic vision that draws a line between realities and the imagination of animals. In ASFF’s Filmmaker Interview, Emmanuel Fraisse analyses his first foray into directing – a post-apocalyptic science fiction fable with non-human characters – and his love for Hayao Miyazaki.
Emmanuel Fraisse’s short film screens at ASFF 2019 in our Official Selection as part of Experimental 6: Apparition. It will be shown on Saturday 9 November at Friargate Theatre (19:15-20:45) and Sunday 10 November at King’s Manor (18:15-19:45).
