A man uses an automated funeral homes company to bury his mother in a culture of convenience and quick response. In ASFF’s Filmmaker Interview, Basile Vuillemin discusses the real life experience that inspired his dark satirical short and the minutiae of creating an aesthetic.
Basile Vuillemin’s short film screens at ASFF 2019 in our Official Selection as part of Comedy 5: Heartbreak Hostel. It will be shown on Wednesday 6 November at 1331 (12:00-13:15); Thursday 7 November at City Screen (12:15-13:30), Friday 8 November at City Screen (11:45-13:00), Saturday 9 November at Everyman Cinema (10:00-11:15) and Sunday 10 November at the Yorkshire Museum (11:30-12:45).
