Friday 4 November | 17:30-18:30 | Yorkshire Museum
Best known for his BBC police drama The Responder, starring BAFTA and Emmy-winning actor Martin Freeman, Tony Schumacher is a break-out writer from Liverpool. Working his way around the world as a roofer, a jeweller, a bouncer, a barman and a binman, he returned to Liverpool to become a response policeman. Schumacher entered the entertainment industry through acting, claiming roles in Channel 4’s long running series Shameless and Ken Loach’s Route Irish. In this session, Schumacher talks about the huge success of his first original drama. He discusses his journey into film and TV and writing from his own experiences as a response policeman. A must-attend session to discover the process of adapting real life into drama.
