Managing Director, Spring Films

A former cameraman, Richard has produced, directed and commissioned hundreds of hours of programmes for British and International broadcasters.

His work ranges from Music Videos with David Bowie and Mick Jagger, to Commercials and Documentaries including Cold War, the 24-part BAFTA nominated, Peabody award-winning history series. More recently he was the Executive Producer on Night Will Fall – a feature length documentary for the BFI, HBO and C4, which has been awarded the Emmy for Outstanding Historical Documentary, The Royal Television Society Award and the Peabody Medal in the USA.

With Sir Jeremy Isaacs he created, launched and ran the Artsworld Television Channel (now known as Sky Arts). He then moved on to become Channels Director for AETN UK; running the History, Bio, Military History and Crime & Investigation Network channels in the UK and EMEA.

He is now the Executive Producer and Managing Director for Spring Films and is working on a variety of projects including science, art, history and music. He recently completed Into the Inferno, the story of volcanoes and mankind directed by Werner Herzog for Netflix, which was nominated for the 2017 Emmys.
