Ian Bailie is a British / Irish born Internationally recognised Production Designer and Supervising Art Director. He has 30 years experience in the Film Industry covering Features, TV, Commercials and Live Events. His films have garnered over one hundred awards and nominations including BAFTA and Academy Awards (Oscar). He is known for Universal’s Pride & Prejudice and Atonement, Spyglass’ Reign of Fire, Tony Gilroy’s Beirut and Lionsgate’s John Wick 3. John Wick 3 was voted best art direction by his peers in the British Film Designers Guild.
Ian has designed films in SE Asia, Northern Africa, Middle East, the USA, and South America and of course much of west and eastern Europe. While working overseas he has been asked to design theatre and performance art events. His take on Swimming With Sharks was nominated for best design by the Straits Times Life awards in Singapore. He is continually invited to lecture and conduct seminars at film schools and universities.
Ian’s most recent feature is The Reckoning directed by Neil Marshall. Made last year in Hungary and this to is winning awards for best horror feature and best Production Design on the festival circuit. The Forgiven starring Ralph Fiennes and Jessica Chastain and directed by John Michael McDonagh is pending end of principal photography in Morocco.
