Heather Basten

Casting Director

Heather Basten is an English casting director based out of London. She found her break into the industry at the BFI nearly a decade ago. She then moved into casting for Film and TV, where she has since cast for notable directors such as Rob Savage, Ana Rocha De Sousa, Charlotte Regan, Abraham Adeyemi and Mustapha Kseibati. She was made a member of the Casting Directors Guild (UK), and the Casting Society of America (USA). Heather Basten cast the first ever feature length film to come out of the NFTS: FELINE. In Jan 2020, Heather was selected by Film London as ‘Lodestar’.

Casting associate credits include Netflix’s THE END OF THE F**KING WORLD, Robert Egger’s THE LIGHTHOUSE starring Willem Dafoe & Robert Pattinson, and TV SERIES, GOMORRAH.

Having established herself as a Casting Director, she has cast for Fox TV, BFI Network, BBC, Sky Arts, Pulse Films and more. Heather’s work has screened everywhere from Sundance to the LFF, and recently won at Tribeca 2020 with NO MORE WINGS. Heather’s first broadcast credits was as a casting assistant alongside Jeremy Zimmermann on the TV series, A.D for NBC. Heather then moved on to be casting assistant for Dixie Chassay on THE CROW, and then resided with Des Hamilton where she assisted Lara Manwaring on BAFTA-winning TV Feature ELLEN, and streetcast in NYC for Yann Demange’s feature, WHITE BOY RICK.
