Edward Hicks

Head of Film TV & Radio, RADA

Edward started his professional life as a child actor, where his credits include the West End production of Another Country, five years with the RSC and numerous screen credits including Channel 4’s Summer Lightning, Michael Palin’s East of Ipswich, Tumbledown, Catherine Cookson’s The Dwelling Place, Casualty, Doctors and American Friends. His directing credits include a wide variety of corporate videos, promos and dramas in all formats – from a 35mm World War One drama No Man’s Land, to an HD advertising campaign for Great Ormond Street Hospital starring Robbie Williams.

A graduate of London Film School, Edward is a regular contributor to the Actors Yearbook, and is currently Head of Film, TV & Radio at RADA – a post sponsored by Warner Bros. He has multiple film projects in development and a book Screen Acting: An insider’s Guide to Film and TV Acting (Methuen) to be published in 2016. His short films have been screened at various film festivals including Rushes and Raindance. Edward has also taught at drama schools including East 15, where he created the first media based acting course to receive industry accreditation.
