Awarded the status of “Industry Legend” by Develop magazine, Charles Cecil has more than 30 years’ experience in the video games business. The founder of Revolution Software, one of the world’s leading adventure game companies, he has a particular interest in the narrative and aesthetic aspects of interactive entertainment and how this medium will develop as technology advances further. Charles is a BAFTA Cymru award winner for his work on the BBC’s Doctor Who games, and was nominated for a Writers’ Guild award for Broken Sword: The Angel of Death.

Charles was executive producer for Sony’s The Da Vinci Code game, and worked on the game spin-off for Robert Zemeckis’s A Christmas Carol. He sits on the BFI and Screen Yorkshire boards and is a visiting lecturer at York University and the National Film and Television School. In 2011 he won an MBE for services to the computer games industry.
