British Urban Film Festival

BUFF wants to change the face of film. They have made great strides in the right direction since their launch in 2005. Across the film & TV industry, Britain’s filmmakers are much less diverse than Britain itself. And that can sometimes mean it’s much more of an effort to make films and TV programmes diverse, because they have to make an effort. This, in turn, is understandable. What’s not understandable is when opportunity is too often determined by who your friends are, and who you know. This in turn makes our talent pool less diverse. At BUFF, they go beyond and above the call of duty. Their board is represented by a cross section of individuals, young and old, black and white, male and female. Our submissions process for 2019 will once again open up a whole new range of opportunities for people to break into the industry as scriptwriters or filmmakers.
