Ben Wheatley’s Sightseers, starring Alice Lowe

Alice Lowe, co-writer and star of Ben Wheatley’s acclaimed black comedy Sightseers, joined us at ASFF 2013 to share her expertise on screenwriting. Working in British comedy for years, she has been part of some of the UK’s best loved comedies such as Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place, The Mighty Boosh and Black Books. Previous co-stars include Robert Webb, Steve Coogan and Simon Pegg. She co-wrote her latest endeavour Sightseers with Steve Oram and they both starred in the film. We provide a synopsis of the film and a link to watch it.

Sightseers synopsis:
Caravan enthusiast Chris takes new girlfriend Tina away from her clinging mother for a tour of Northern England. But finding their pastoral idyll marred by litterbugs, snobs and sundry other irritants, the pair leave a trail of blood in their wake.
