ASFF 2019: The Hijack Visionary Filmmaker Award

Hijack Post-Production is a post-production and DIT company based in East London. Their portfolio encompasses a diverse range of projects: acclaimed feature films The Party and The Pass, as well as TV series Good Omens, and advertising campaigns for brands like Adidas, Nike, and Ikea. Recent projects include Sally Potter’s new film, Molly, and John Akomfrah’s latest video installation Four Nocturnes.

New for this year’s Aesthetica Short Film Festival, the Hijack Visionary Filmmaker Award recognises directors with exceptional vision and a unique cinematic voice. It includes a generous post production package including grade, audio mix, online and deliverables for their next short film. 2019’s winner is Ellie Rogers with They Found Her in a Field, which screened as part of ASFF 2019’s drama reels. It follows Martha, a character haunted by the death of her fellow classmate and first love. She returns, 10 years on, to their old meeting place. As the memories come flooding back, she must confront a mystery.

ASFF 2019 ran 6-10 November. Find out more about this year’s winners here.
