ASFF 2019: Industry Marketplace

ASFF 2019: Industry Marketplace

New to 2019, BAFTA-Qualifying ASFF introduces the Industry Marketplace. The first event of its kind in the UK, it is a platform for attendees and delegates to engage with key organisations from across the sector, including international film festivals, screen agencies, sales agents, global distributors and renowned universities. It is a destination for individuals to meet face-to-face with those changing the industry today.

This year’s edition welcomes 40 exhibitors from around the world, including BFI Network, Locarno Film Festival, Edinburgh Film Festival, Sheffield Doc/Fest, Hijack Post, Harmony Studios, London College of Communication and Festival Formula. These industry leaders and cultural pioneers will each occupy a dedicated exhibition space, attracting around 3,000 international directors, delegates and students. With representatives specialising in the latest developments across VR, short and feature-length films, the Marketplace will be a dynamic and accessible space for conversation and exchange.

This latest event taps in to ASFF’s position as a top destination for industry. Each year, the festival provides a meeting point for representatives from around the world – welcoming the likes of Aardman, BBC, Framestore, Film4, Studiocanal, Dazed, British Vogue and many more in 2018. For the ninth edition, guests include Oscar-winner Simon Chinn (Man on Wire, Searching for Sugarman), BAFTA-winning producer Paul Webster (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice) and BIFA-nominated editor Chris Wyatt (This is England, God’s Own Country).

The Industry Marketplace is unique to ASFF, complementing a rich and expansive programme of over 100 events and 450 films. Free to attend for pass-holders, this one-day event reaches out to the filmmaking community, providing a prime opportunity to expand contacts lists and share projects amongst likeminded individuals.

The Industry Marketplace takes place 8 November. ASFF 2019 tickets on sale 1 July.
