Guest speakers share their experiences of the 2018 BAFTA-Qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival.
Thanks very much for having me, I had a fantastic time at the festival and it was great to see so much wonderful work. Will certainly be putting films in for next year!
Thanks so much for having me there. I had an amazing time... saw some inspiring work, met some amazing people and returned fired up to make more film! Congratulations on a great festival. I hope to be back next year!
Thank you and I want to say well done, genuinely, that was a fantastic selection for opening night: it was diverse but had a unity and it was fab to end on a lighter piece. The pieces before it were challenging without being morbid and gave the opening real gravitas - brilliant.
I just want to thank you and your team for an amazing series of events at the festival this year. I honestly couldn’t have been happier with all of the amazing work you all did, so please do pass all of my thanks on to everyone who helped along the way. I know what a huge job it was pulling it all together and you and your team were nothing but helpful and gracious with us through the entire process. If I didn’t say it enough at the time, you really impress and amaze me with what you have achieved with the festival and I am so pleased and gratified to have been invited to participate in it in the way that we did this year. Here’s to the future! And thank you again!
What a festival! Congrats! Amazing & inspiring workshops & screenings, and I had the pleasure of being involved in one of the BFI Network Meet Markets too and made lots of contacts. Hopefully we can get involved with York Filmmakers Coalition next year. Thanks so much for all your hard work, what a buzz!!
I just wanted to send you a quick message to thank you and the whole team for including Turning Tide in this year’s Aesthetica Short Film Festival. It was such an amazing, incredible week, and we loved every second of it! It was our first time attending a festival with our film, so we couldn’t have asked for a better event. It was an absolute pleasure attending the festival, and well done once again to the whole team!
The programme was incredible; so many affecting, funny, disturbing and brilliant shorts, so little time. Each collection we saw was so skilfully brought together.
Being a part of the Aesthetica Short Film festival was a great experience; one that I know for a fact our students enjoyed immensely as well. And I would personally like to express my warmest thanks to everyone at Aesthetica who liaised with me and helped us arrange the Middlesex Showcase Screening and our trip to the festival. We are very much looking forward to participating in ASFF 2019!
I had a great time at the festival and have recommended it to my colleagues. The mix of screenings and seminars/masterclasses makes it a really interesting few days. The York setting is also great, it is such a beautiful place and so easy to walk from one location to another. I'm hoping to come again next year.
I just wanted to send a quick message to tell you how much I enjoyed the festival. I've been taking films to festivals for the past 8 years and this last week has been one of the most positive experiences I've had. I met loads of great people and really enjoyed speaking on the panel. I'm keen to return next year with my new short The History of Nipples, which I will be able to share early next year.
