The 5th edition of the Aesthetica Short Film Festival launches this Thursday 5 November, and continues until Sunday 8 November. The festival transforms the city through cinema, with 300 films screening across the city in the genres of comedy, dance, drama, documentary, animation, fashion, advertising, artists’ film, experimental, music video and thriller.
All films in the Official Selection are in competition for the awards Best of Fest, People’s Choice and Best of Category. For the People’s Choice Award, audience members are invited to vote for their favourite film on-site during the festival. Voting boxes will be present in every venue alongside voting slips.
The winners of the awards will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on Sunday 8 November. The National Centre for Early Music plays host to the festival’s closing ceremony, offering an elevated and historic finish to ASFF’s four-day run. This is also a great opportunity for final networking with filmmakers and industry figures.
For ASFF tickets and passes head to the festival hub at Visit York, open daily 9.00am – 5.00pm.
