Submit your Short Film to the BAFTA Qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival

The BAFTA Qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival is looking for new filmmaking talent for its 6th edition, which will take place across York from 3 – 6 November. Filmmakers are invited to submit work with a running time of up to 30 minutes in the categories: advertising, animation, artists’ film, comedy, dance, documentary, drama, experimental, fashion, music video and thriller.

The festival offers a unique platform for filmmakers to reach a wider audience. Prizes include multiple screenings across the four day event, which attracts thousands of visitors from local, national and international locations. The festival also hosts a dynamic series of masterclasses with some of today’s biggest talents in the film world. There are lots of networking opportunities for filmmakers, with representatives from Creative England, Creative Scotland, Film London, London Film School and many more available for giving one to one advice on making it in film.

The festival screens over 300 films, and celebrates creative talent through its presentation of awards at the closing ceremony. Films in the Official Selection are in instantly in competition for Best of Fest, People’s Choice and Best of Category. Winning these awards is a huge accolade and competition is fierce.

Films that are selected for the ASFF 2016 Official Selection will also be in with a chance of screening at other film festivals and cultural events. The ASFF Film Tour takes a selection of films from the programme and showcases it to new audiences around the UK and internationally, making this a great opportunity for added exposure. The winning films are also featured in Aesthetica Magazine and are given coverage on Aesthetica’s online channels.

To enter ASFF, visit times up to 30 minutes. Deadline 31 May.
