Orillo Cinema is celebrating the Tour De France coming to York with an open air screening and Yorkshire Garden Party in the centre of York on Sunday 6 July to coincide with the tour arriving in the City for the second stage of the race. The Museum Gardens will play host to a large screen that will show the riders’ departure, and a live stream of the ITV coverage will be projected onto a 6 metre long LED screen for everyone to enjoy.
This event will also include live music and barbecue followed by a screening of family favourite Jumani from 8pm until 10pm. To accompany the film, there will be themed food and drink including Jungle Juice cocktails at the bar sold inside the three huge Papakata ti-pis that will be set up on the bowling green area of the Gardens.
Around the gardens wills be bean bags, hammocks and other comfortable seating areas for early guests and due to the outdoor nature of the event it is recommend that people bring warm clothes for the evening as it is likely to get cold. This is one of the many events that will be held around the region to celebrate the Tour coming to Yorkshire. More information can be found at the Yorkshire Festival website HERE
