London-based designer, Hannah Weiland, has launched faux-fur fashion label, Shrimps. Weiland’s multi-coloured pieces are inspired by the witticisms of modern art and reflect her background in History of Art. Also gaining a diploma in textile design from the London College of Fashion, her playful collection engages with pattern and texture.
Weiland’s carefully sourced fabrics emphasise her bold colour choices and make for an eye-catching statement piece. Her beautifully crafted clothes are for the forward-thinking customer with a taste for the fun in fashion. For her first collection, the designer has taken the simple Breton-stripe and mixed it with bright faux-furs, finishing with coats and clutch bags that are at once nostalgic and surreal yet contemporary. Shrimps encapsulates British humour and celebrates the innovation and experimental nature of London fashion.
To celebrate the launch of her first collection, Weiland has teamed up with Somesuch & Co to produce a fashion film. Directed by Tegen Williams, Shrimps World is a playful look at the coats in action.
