Discover Arab Cinema at BFI Southbank

This year long programme of films from the Arab Region from the Zenith Foundation in collaboration with BFI Southbank, showcases the best of film from the Arab Diaspora. This April will show cutting-edge, experimental cinema including Demokratia and Territoire(s) by Algerian director Malik Ben Smail and At the Beginning by Tunisian director Sadri Jemail.

Screenings begin on 8 April and will include on that day a Q&A with Director Larissa Sansour after the screening of a selection of shorts, including four of her own work: Soup Over Bethlehem and Trespass the Salt, and the futuristic A Space Exodus, and Nation Estate. This event is not to be missed and tickets can be booked online.

Aiming to engage a new audience to Arabian Film, this year long showcase gives a platform for new contemporary work and classic films. Presenting shorts along side feature length films, this is chance to explore film from the Arab region and diaspora. The screening are classified by genre or theme and four films or shorts are featured each month.
