Steve Rawle is an associate professor at York St John University, where he has taught media production and film studies for nearly a decade. His research covers aspects of independent American and cult Japanese cinemas, and he is the author of Performance in the Cinema of Hal Hartley (2011) and Transnational Cinema: An Introduction (forthcoming). He has published articles and book chapters on topics ranging from independent film stars, Japanese horror remakes to Godzilla movies. He is also the co-author of Basics Film-making: The Language of Film (2015) and co-editor of Partners in Suspense: Critical Essays on Bernard Herrmann and Alfred Hitchcock (2016).
