Director, London Short Film Festival
Philip Ilson is the Director of the London Short Film Festival (LSFF), which he co-founded with Kate Taylor in 2004 after the organisation of the Halloween Short Film Festival at the ICA in 2003. A premier showcase for cutting-edge UK independent film, LSFF is renowned for its innovative cross-arts programming and showcase of the country’s raw talent for 15 years.
Alongside his work at LSFF, Ilson is also the short film programmer for the BFI London Film Festival, and works as a freelance programmer at the Cork Film Festival in Ireland, and the Branchage Festival in Jersey. Following his founding of the Halloween Society Short Film Club in the 1990s, he has since also worked as a programmer for the Curzon Soho, Latitude music festival, the East End Film Festival, and other film events.
