Lauren Dark is a Commissioning Executive at Film4, focusing on new talent. Prior to her current role, she worked as an Independent Producer with Stray Bear Productions. She produced Michael Pearce’s Film4/BFI-backed debut feature Beast with Ivana MacKinnon and Kristian Brodie which premiered in Toronto’s Platform Strand and at Sundance in 2018.
Lauren worked for five years at Ken Loach and Rebecca O’Brien’s Sixteen Films in development and production. Whilst there she produced Jack Thorne / Tom Harper’s War Book, which opened the International Film festival Rotterdam in 2015 and played on BBC4 as part of their nuclear season. Production credits include UK shoots for Diego Luna’s Chavez, Christophe Honore’s Beloved and Jacques Audiard’s Dheepan.
Lauren was selected as one of Screen International’s future leader producers in Cannes 2015 and as a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit, a year-long development programme designed to showcase the next generation of creative talent in Film, TV and Games.
