ASFF Official Selection: Requiem by Marino Thorlacius and Sigríður Soffía

In 2014, directors Marino Thorlacius and Sigríður Soffía brought their 16-minute short Requiem to ASFF, where it was screened in a reel alongside four other dance works. The film offers a glimpse into the mind of a woman who has lost touch with reality. She battles to hide her weakness from others, while not quite knowing what is real. Produced in Iceland by Ratel-production, this intimate dance piece features original choreography by Sigríður Soffía Níelsdóttir and music by Barði Johannsson.

ASFF is a celebration of independent film from across the world, and an outlet for supporting and championing short filmmaking. The festival’s fifth edition will take place in 15 iconic venues across the city of York from 5-8 November and is currently open for entries. Submit your film for a chance to showcase your film to industry, filmmakers and thousands of film fans at ASFF 2015. We accept running times up to 30 minutes and the deadline for entry is 31 May.
