Solo Finale is a story of a relationship gone awry. Depicted through poetic, surreal pictures where the physics of the world do not always apply, it is an allegory of the polarity of love. Screening in the Aesthetica Short Film Festival’s inaugural dance strand, director Ingo Putze’s short film mesmerises viewers with nine-minutes of surreal and otherworldly events.
A rapidly expanding genre, dance on film captures the intuitive nuances of choreographed human motion and collaboratively stylised actions. In previous years, the genre has been incorporated into the strands of artists’ film and experimental. Due to popular demand, dance is welcomed back to the festival in its very own Official Selection category.
