BAFTA Qualifying ASFF 2014 Opens in One Month: Watch the Trailer

The trailer for the Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF) is out now, showcasing clips from many of the films in ASFF 2014’s programme. The trailer highlights ASFF’s bold programming and features films from 10 genres including advertising, animation, artists’ film, experimental, drama, comedy, documentary, fashion, thriller and music video.

One of the UK’s most exciting cinematic events, this year’s festival runs from 6 to 9 November in 15 unique venues across the historic city of York. The line-up presents over 350 films from 39 countries worldwide with a number of UK premieres demonstrating the very best in short film. ASFF promotes the careers of British and international filmmakers through its industry activities and awards, and also presents an opportunity for audiences to discover new filmmaking talent.

Alongside screenings, visitors to ASFF can also enjoy a series of masterclasses, workshops, daily networking sessions and parties including the Friday Night Party. ASFF’s official restaurant and bar 1331 is situated in York’s lively Latin Quarter. A hive of activity throughout the festival screening films in its luxury Brandy Brown’s Little Cinema with reclining seats and table service, it is the place to be on Friday night, where you can connect with friends old and new in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Over drinks discuss festival plans for the weekend and chat to the filmmakers about their practice.

There will also be a series of masterclasses and workshops with leading industry figures from BAFTA, Channel 4, Ridley Scott Associates and many more, plus evening events and an awards ceremony. There will also be special screenings from Yorkshire Film Archive and Creative England’s iShorts and official selections from guest countries: Iraq, Japan and Lebanon.
