Alice Lowe: Bringing a Script and Characters to Life in Film

The BAFTA Qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF) 2016 returns this year with an expansive masterclass programme. Whether participants are aiming to find the right festival strategy or looking to capture the world through documentary, the festival’s dynamic masterclass schedule has something to entice all festival goers.

In the newly refurbished York Theatre Royal, ASFF welcomes actor, writer and director Alice Lowe, known for her roles in dark comedies including Electricity, Sightseers, Locke and Hot Fuzz. Lowe will offer an insight into how to introduce vivacity into your narrative. With a wealth of experience behind her, including a feature in Best ASFF Comedy (2014) Girl Power by Benjamin Bee, Lowe’s ability to reference her plethora of roles will guide guests on how to bring both a script and a character to life.

Alice Lowe is no stranger to brilliantly provocative plot lines, her most recent work Prevenge (2016) featured pregnant Lowe as homicidal mother-to-be Ruth, how she develops unique storylines will be discussed at the masterclass on Friday 4 November, 12:30 – 13:30 at the York Theatre Royal.
