Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2015 welcomes the return of Creative England who will present iShorts, their entry level shorts initiative for new filmmakers outside of London, delivered through the Sheffield and Brighton Talent Centres as part of the BFI.NETWORK. Join Creative England for a screening to celebrate the second year of iShorts with a special selection of films and hear from the team about the support Creative England can offer to new and emerging filmmakers starting out in the business.
The screening will take place at Bootham School, York, a contemporary state of the art cinema space set within the charming setting of the Quaker school, located close to York Minster. The event takes place from 3pm – 7pm on Saturday 7 November and is free to attend with a Festival Pass. Included in the selection of six iShorts for 2015 is Claire Molloy’s Wildflower (2015), a contemplative, atmospheric short that witnesses the reversal of family roles as a child assumes great responsibilty when he is forced to deal with his mother’s mental illness. The screenings will be accompanied by a panel discussion.
