Creative England iShorts: Supporting New Filmmakers

Following two previous successful showcase screenings at ASFF, Creative England are thrilled to be bringing a programme of their new iShorts back to York for their 2016 festival premiere.

The scheme is committed to supporting new filmmakers, helping them take their first professional steps and kick-start their careers. This year’s diverse slate of projects takes in a wide range of styles and themes, from traditional coming of age dramas to a Morris Dancing folk horror.

Filmmakers supported through the iShorts3 scheme are based across all English regions from Bradford to Bristol. The 16 projects selected for iShorts3 were given a production award of £5,000 and received editorial support, industry mentoring and networking opportunities via the Creative England film team, as well as access to a bespoke training programme funded by Creative Skillset.

Running order for this screening will be confirmed online, check www.asff.co.uk for the latest details.

There will be a Q&A with the filmmakers afterwards to discuss their experience with iShorts.
