ASFF 2013 Filmmaker Bouha Kazmi, Flicker

ASFF 2014 is accepting film submissions until 31 May for this year’s festival, which will take place from 6 – 9 November in York, UK. Counting down to the deadline, we are showcasing a selection of outstanding films from ASFF 2013.

Flicker (2013) by Bouha Kazmi (Independent Films, UK) was screened at ASFF in the Experimental category. A beautiful and fragmented story of loss and self-discovery following a vulnerable drifter girl as she treads desolate hollow ground trying to find her direction.

Filmmakers chosen for the Official Selection are up for a number of prizes that, on top of festival screening throughout ASFF, include: £750 Festival Winner; £250 People’s Choice Award; Best Category Awards; screenings at a number of other major UK festivals; editorial coverage in Aesthetica Magazine and on the ASFF blog. The time limit is 30 minutes and categories for entry are: Advertising, Animation, Artists’ Film, Comedy, Documentary, Drama, Experimental, Fashion, Music Video and Thriller.
