Seven ground-breaking Polish short films, selected from nearly 300 submitted titles, make up the Short Waves Grand Prix 2014 screening, which will be showcased at Hackney Picturehouse (Attic) on Sunday 30 March. Short Waves Festival in Pozna?, Poland, have partnered up with London Short Film Festival to create this one-off, must see screening. The films selected tell individual stories in unique ways, and experiment with various means of artistic expression.
Short Waves Festival celebrates its sixth edition, running from 30 March to 6 April, with touring programmes taking place in many cities in Poland, Europe and across the world. Championing professionals and amateurs, the festival offers a chance to see the greatest figures in Polish cinema in new unprecedented ways alongside rising talent in short filmmaking.
It is also an event centred on the audience, and offers an intimate, accessible and engaging viewer experience by integrating music, new media, design and stunning architectural settings. Short films presented at Short Waves festival include animation, documentary, music videos, drama and experimental.
