There’s 24 days to go until the deadline for submissions for the BAFTA Qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF) 2015. We count down to the 31 May by highlighting a film from last year’s Official Selection; today presenting music video Night Mail, directed by Robert Hackett from Antagonist Films for Public Service Broadcasting.
Hackett’s Night Mail won Best Music Video at ASFF 2014. Shot at night, this promo is characterised by images from the original Night Mail GPO Film Unit film featuring WH Auden’s poem, projected onto a disused train station. The film was shot in one night on location, in a museum that had recreated an old station within it.
ASFF 2015 provides a unique platform for filmmakers at all levels in their career to showcase their talent to a wider audience. Confirmed guests so far include masterclass speakers from Channel 4, Association of Camera Operators (Harry Potter, Elizabeth), Framestore (Björk, Gravity, Guardians of the Galaxy) and more, proesenting great ways to interact with industry leaders.
Entries close 31 May. To enter and for more information, visit www.asff.co.uk/submit
