Inspired by Vivienne Westwood’s Climate Revolution collection, Red Shoes sees actress and model Lily Cole lead audiences on a journey through a dark, enchanted space where decay and opulence sit side by side. Directed by Lorna Tucker, the short film featured in BAFTA Qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival’s first fashion screening in 2014.
There’s 17 days to go until the deadline for submissions for the 2015 festival. We count down to the 31 May by highlighting a film from ASFF’s Official Selection from previous years. ASFF offers a unique platform for filmmakers at all levels in their career to showcase their talent to a wider audience.
Last year’s fashion strand was brought to the festival in conjunction with the University of the Arts London College of Fashion. This lavish category dedicates itself to surveying a range of industry topics from garment workers to textiles through works by independent filmmakers and highly esteemed brands such as Armor-Lux, Karen Millen, River Island and Topshop.
Entries close 31 May. To enter and for more information, visit www.asff.co.uk/submit.
